श्राद्धे त्वथ महाराज परीक्षेद् ब्राह्मणान् बुध: । कुलशीलवयोरूपैर्विद्ययाभिजनेन च
śrāddhe tv atha mahārāja parīkṣed brāhmaṇān budhaḥ | kulaśīlavayorūpair vidyayābhijanena ca ||
ພີດສະມະກ່າວວ່າ: «ແຕ່ໃນເວລາທຳສຣາດທະ ໂອ ພະຣາຊາຜູ້ຍິ່ງໃຫຍ່, ຜູ້ມີປັນຍາຄວນກວດສອບພຣາຫມະນ—ໂດຍພິຈາລະນາຕະກູນ, ຄວາມປະພຶດດີ, ອາຍຸ, ຮູບລັກສະນະ, ຄວາມຮູ້, ແລະ ກຳເນີດອັນສູງສົ່ງ. ເພາະໃນພິທີຖວາຍແດ່ບັນພະບຸລຸດ ການເລືອກຢ່າງຮອບຄອບຈະຮັກສາຄວາມສັກສິດຂອງເຄື່ອງຖວາຍ ແລະ ຄ້ຳຈຸນທຳມະ»។
