पुण्यामृद्धिरसां भूमिं यो ददाति पुरंदर । न तस्य लोकाः: क्षीयन्ते भूमिदानगुणान्विता:
bhīṣma uvāca | puṇyām ṛddhirasāṁ bhūmiṁ yo dadāti purandara | na tasya lokāḥ kṣīyante bhūmidānaguṇānvitāḥ ||
ພີດສະມະ ກ່າວວ່າ: ໂອ ປຸຣັນດະຣະ! ຜູ້ໃດຖວາຍທານແຜ່ນດິນອັນບໍລິສຸດ ແລະອຸດົມດ້ວຍ “ນ້ຳເຊື້ອ” ແຫ່ງຄວາມຮັ່ງມີ—ໂລກທີ່ຜູ້ນັ້ນໄດ້ຮັບຈະບໍ່ເສື່ອມສູນ; ດ້ວຍຄຸນທານແຫ່ງການຖວາຍທີ່ດິນ ຍ່ອມໄດ້ຮັບໂລກອັນບໍ່ຮູ້ຈົບ.
भीष्म उवाच
Land-gift (bhūmidāna) is praised as a supremely meritorious form of charity because it supports sustained livelihood; therefore its karmic fruit is described as ‘non-diminishing worlds’ (akṣaya lokāḥ), i.e., enduring spiritual reward.
In the Anuśāsana Parva’s instruction on dāna-dharma, Bhishma continues his discourse by addressing Purandara (Indra) and declaring the exceptional merit and lasting reward gained by one who donates fertile, prosperity-bearing land.
