च्यवन उवाच सहस्रन॑ नाहमहामि किं वा त्वं मन्‍्यसे नृप । सदृशं दीयतां मूल्यं स्वबुद्ध्या निश्चयं कुरु

Transliteration

Cyavana uvāca: sahasreṇa nāham ahāmi kiṁ vā tvaṁ manyase nṛpa | sadṛśaṁ dīyatāṁ mūlyaṁ svabuddhyā niścayaṁ kuru ||

Translation

ຈະຍະວະນະ ກ່າວວ່າ: «ໂອ ນະເຣສະວະຣະ (ພຣະຣາຊາ), ຂ້າພະເຈົ້າບໍ່ແມ່ນຜູ້ທີ່ຈະຖືກຊື້ດ້ວຍເງິນພຽງໜຶ່ງພັນ. ທ່ານຄິດວ່າຄ່າຂອງຂ້າພະເຈົ້າມີແຕ່ເທົ່ານັ້ນບໍ? ຈົ່ງໃຫ້ຄ່າທີ່ສົມຄວນແກ່ຂ້າພະເຈົ້າ; ຈົ່ງໃຊ້ປັນຍາຂອງທ່ານພິຈາລະນາ ແລະຕັດສິນໃຈໃຫ້ແນ່ນອນວ່າຄ່ານັ້ນຄວນເປັນເທົ່າໃດ»។
