Pūjya-namaskārya-prakaraṇa
On Those Worthy of Honor and Salutation
अन््यं वरं वृणीष्व त्वं दुर्लभो5यं हि ते वर: । अत: जिनका मन अपने वशमें नहीं है
śakra uvāca | anyaṃ varaṃ vṛṇīṣva tvaṃ durlabho ’yaṃ hi te varaḥ |
ພຣະສັກຣະ (ອິນທຣະ) ກ່າວວ່າ: “ຈົ່ງເລືອກພອນອື່ນ. ພອນທີ່ເຈົ້າຂໍນີ້ ແທ້ຈິງແລ້ວຍາກທີ່ເຈົ້າຈະໄດ້. ດັ່ງນັ້ນ ຈົ່ງລະຄວາມດື້ດຶງທີ່ຈະໄດ້ພາວະເປັນພຣາຫມະນະ—ຊຶ່ງບໍ່ອາດບັນລຸໄດ້ເລີຍສຳລັບຜູ້ທີ່ບໍ່ອາດຄວບຄຸມໃຈຕົນ—ແລ້ວຂໍພອນອື່ນເຖີດ. ພອນນີ້ສຳລັບເຈົ້າ ຍັງເປັນຂອງຫາຍາກ.”
शक्र उवाच
True spiritual status (such as Brahminhood) is tied to inner discipline—especially mastery of the mind—rather than mere desire or demand; without self-control, such a state is declared practically unattainable.
Indra (Śakra), responding to a request for a boon, discourages the seeker from asking for Brahminhood, calling it difficult to obtain for them, and urges them to choose a different boon instead.
