Narrator (Purāṇic narrator describing the sage’s response after Vāsudeva’s words)
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shanta
By showing “going by the mind” to the all-facing Lord, the verse points to inner realization: the Supreme is approached through inward consciousness rather than physical movement, suggesting the Atman’s proximity and immediacy.
The phrase manasā jagāma implies dhyāna—mental absorption and directed contemplation—where the practitioner turns the mind toward Īśāna as the omnipresent Lord, aligning with Purāṇic yoga methods of single-pointed devotion and meditation.
Vāsudeva’s instruction leads the sage to Īśāna, reflecting the Kurma Purana’s synthesis: guidance from Vishnu culminates in contemplation of Shiva, presenting both as harmonious manifestations of the one Lord.
