Ayurvedic pharmaceutics: a kuṣṭha (chronic skin disorder) remedy listing specific dravyas and the method of preparation—levigation/trituration in urine (mūtrapeṣaṇa) to make a potent application/compound.
It demonstrates the Purana’s inclusion of practical Ayurveda—materia medica (herbs/minerals) and preparation techniques—alongside theology and ritual, reflecting a compendium of applied sciences within a Purāṇic framework.
By preserving health and removing disfiguring disease (kuṣṭha), the instruction supports dharma through bodily fitness for worship and duty; in Purāṇic thought, healing is also a form of purification that restores capability for righteous living.
