Related Themes: Agni Purana homa-dravya-vidhi lists for pauṣṭika/śānti/abhicārika rites; Agni Purana sections on tree-woods (idhma) suitability for yajña
It specifies homa-dravyas (grains, siddhārthaka/white mustard) and idhma (udumbara fuel-sticks) as the prescribed ritual materials to obtain the result of paśu-sampad—growth of cattle/livestock.
It catalogues a cause–effect mapping between specific ritual substances and practical outcomes (here, livestock prosperity), exemplifying the Agni Purana’s manual-like coverage of applied dharma—ritual technology alongside broader theology and ethics.
By performing a properly directed homa with sanctioned materials, the practitioner aligns intention (kāma) with dharmic ritual action, seeking prosperity (paśu-sampatti) through a merit-generating, purificatory fire-offering.
