Concept: Dhyāna as a technology of form: precise visual attributes stabilize the mind and align worship with the intended devatā-bhāva.

Application: Use these markers while doing dhyāna before arcana: mentally ‘dress’ the deity in white, place a white garland, and contemplate the multi-headed, venerable aspect to cultivate śānti and śuddhi.

FAQs

It gives dhyāna-lakṣaṇas (visualization markers) for worship—describing the deity’s iconographic traits such as multiple heads and white attire/garlands to be used in meditation and pūjā.

By cataloging precise iconographic and dhyāna details used in ritual practice, it functions like a practical manual—one of the Agni Purana’s hallmark “how-to” domains alongside temple rites, mantra-usage, and other applied śāstric topics.

Correct visualization and purity-symbols (white garland and garments) support focused devotion (bhakti) and ritual efficacy, aiding mental purification and steadiness in worship.
