Related Themes: Agni Purana 308 (diksha and prayaschitta context)
It prescribes a dīkṣā sequence: a required offering/donation, use of pallava (sprouts) as a consecratory element, prior purification by drinking pañcagavya, and regulated consumption of caru as the ritual food.
It functions like a compact ritual manual: it combines economics of rite (specified giving), materials of worship (pallava), expiatory purification (pañcagavya), and sacrificial protocol (caru), showing the text’s procedural coverage beyond narrative theology.
The sequence frames initiation as both inner and outer purification: pañcagavya removes ritual impurity, prescribed offerings cultivate merit (puṇya), and caru links the initiate to the sacrificial order, stabilizing the vow/observance.
