FAQs

It specifies quantitative ritual repetition (100 or 1000 “āvartas,” i.e., cycles/recitations/iterations) and prescribes directional placement of Viṣṇu’s seat within the maṇḍapa–maṇḍala setup (east and north-east).

It combines liturgical details (counts of repetitions) with ritual space-planning (maṇḍapa/maṇḍala and directional installation), showing the Agni Purana’s coverage of both worship manuals and applied vastu-like spatial rules.

Higher repetition (1000 vs 100) signals intensified discipline and merit, while correct directional installation is treated as essential for ritual efficacy—aligning worship with sacred order (dik and īśāna orientation) to ensure auspicious results.
