Vidya Category: {"primary_vidya":"Tantra","secondary_vidya":"Mantra","practical_application":"Provides an alternative initiation/homa protocol: ‘complete oblation’ performed through dhyāna when materials are unavailable or the practitioner is incapable—supporting internalized ritual (mānasa-yajña).","sutra_style":true}
Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"Procedure","entry_title":"Pūrṇāhuti as Dīkṣā for the Resource-Limited Sādhaka","lookup_keywords":["pūrṇāhuti","dīkṣā","homa-vidhāna","mānasa-yajña","anupakaraṇa"],"quick_summary":"When full external resources or capacity are lacking, initiation may be effected by meditative focus and offering a ‘complete oblation’ as a condensed rite."}
Concept: Primacy of bhāva (intent) and dhyāna in ritual efficacy; allowance for substitution/condensation when dravya or śakti is deficient.
Application: Adopt a legitimate ‘minimal viable’ rite: maintain mantra, visualization, and pūrṇāhuti as the essential completion-marker when external performance is constrained.
Khanda Section: Puja-vidhi (Diksha & Homa-vidhana / Ritual Initiation and Fire-offering Procedures)
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A sādhaka in meditation before a small fire altar; instead of abundant offerings, a single symbolic pūrṇāhuti is shown, with luminous visualization of offerings arising from the mind into the flame.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural, simple homa-kuṇḍa, sādhaka with closed eyes, a single ladle offering, stylized flame receiving a stream of light, minimal implements to emphasize dravya-abhāva.","tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore style, gold-highlighted flame and ladle, the ‘pūrṇāhuti’ depicted as a radiant orb entering Agni, ornate but sparse ritual items to show constraint.","mysore_prompt":"Mysore painting, clear instructional layout: small altar, ladle, one offering bowl, sādhaka posture and dhyāna focus, labels implied by composition.","mughal_miniature_prompt":"Mughal miniature, quiet chamber with a small brazier, meditating sādhaka, delicate smoke and light motifs indicating inner offering, restrained palette."}
Audio Atmosphere: {"recitation_mood":"contemplative","suggested_raga":"Bhairavi","pace":"slow","voice_tone":"instructional"}
Related Themes: Agni Purana 27 (Dīkṣā and Homa-vidhāna sections around pūrṇāhuti and initiation rules)
It gives a practical rule in dīkṣā and homa: when a practitioner lacks ritual materials or physical/mental capacity, initiation and rite can be fulfilled through meditative focus and offering a complete āhuti as the essential act.
Alongside theory, it preserves operational ritual guidance—exceptions, substitutions, and minimum effective requirements—showing the text’s handbook-like coverage of real-world constraints in pūjā, dīkṣā, and homa practice.
It emphasizes intention (dhyāna) and the integrity of the offering (pūrṇāhuti) as spiritually efficacious, allowing merit and purification to remain accessible even when external resources or strength are insufficient.
