Vidya Category: {"primary_vidya":"Tantra","secondary_vidya":"Mantra","practical_application":"Protective/abhicharika-adjacent rite: empower white powder/pollen with the mula-mantra 100 times, then cast/strike while uttering the hridaya-mantra with huṃ and phaṭ for warding, sealing, or dispersal.","sutra_style":true}

Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"Procedure","entry_title":"Shukla-rajas mantra-abhimantrana and huṃ-phaṭ hridaya-prayoga","lookup_keywords":["shukla-rajas","hridaya-mantra","hum","phat","raksha-kriya"],"quick_summary":"Charge white powder with the root-mantra (100 times) and project it with the heart-mantra ending in huṃ-phaṭ to protect, repel obstacles, or ritually purify a space/person."}

Concept: Mantra-śakti is intensified by repetition (śata-abhimantrana) and directed outward through nyasa-linked ‘heart’ formulae; huṃ/phaṭ function as energizing and cutting/severing closures.

Application: In ritual safety protocols: use empowered substances and sealing syllables to demarcate protected boundaries and conclude mantra-actions cleanly.

FAQs

It teaches a specific mantra-procedure: empower a white fine powder/pollen with 100 recitations of the mūla-mantra, then apply it (strike/cast) while reciting the hṛdaya-mantra ending with the forceful syllables huṃ and phaṭ.

Alongside theology, the Agni Purana preserves highly practical ritual technologies—precise counts (100 japa), materials (white rajaḥ), and mantra-components (mūla/hṛdaya, huṃ/phaṭ)—showing its coverage of applied liturgy and mantra-science.

Such empowered applications are traditionally framed as rakṣā (protective) and śuddhi (purificatory) acts—using mantra-charged substances and “phaṭ”-ended utterances to remove obstacles, repel negativity, and establish ritual safeguarding.
