आत्मेश्वरजीवः अनात्मनां देहादीनामात्मत्वेनाभिमन्यते सोऽभिमान आत्मनो बन्धः। तन्निवृत्तिर्मोक्षः॥२॥
आत्म-ईश्वर-जीवः । अनात्मनाम् देह-आदीनाम् आत्मत्वेन अभिमन्यते । सः अभिमानः आत्मनः बन्धः । तत्-निवृत्तिः मोक्षः ॥२॥
ātmeśvarajīvaḥ anātmanāṃ dehādīnām ātmatvenābhimanyate so'bhimāna ātmanaḥ bandhaḥ | tannivṛttir mokṣaḥ ||2||
ಆತ್ಮನು—ಈಶ್ವರರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಜೀವರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ—ದೇಹಾದಿ ಅನಾತ್ಮ ವಸ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ಆತ್ಮವೆಂದು ಭಾವಿಸುವನು; ಆ ಅಭಿಮಾನವೇ ಆತ್ಮನ ಬಂಧನ. ಅದರ ನಿವೃತ್ತಿಯೇ ಮೋಕ್ಷ.
The Self—(as) Lord and individual—conceives the non-Self, such as the body and so on, as the Self; that identification (abhimāna) is the bondage of the Self. The cessation of that is liberation.
