Sanskrit recitationSarvasara Upanishad 2

ātmeśvarajīvaḥ anātmanāṃ dehādīnām ātmatvenābhimanyate so'bhimāna ātmanaḥ bandhaḥ | tannivṛttir mokṣaḥ ||2||

The Self—(as) Lord and individual—conceives the non-Self, such as the body and so on, as the Self; that identification (abhimāna) is the bondage of the Self. The cessation of that is liberation.

Avidyā/adhyāsa (misidentification) as bandha; mokṣa as nivṛtti (sublation)Mahavakya: Directly supports mahāvākya contemplation by removing dehātma-buddhi (body-as-self notion), enabling recognition of the Self as Brahman (e.g., ‘ayam ātmā brahma’, ‘tat tvam asi’).AtharvaChandas: Prose
