gopratāre japo homaḥ snānaṃ dānaṃ ca śaktitaḥ | sarvamakṣayatāṃ yāti śraddhayā niyamavratam
Brahmā (deduced)
Tirtha: Gopratāra
Type: ghat
Scene: Pilgrims at Gopratāra perform a fourfold rite: one chants japa with mālā, another tends a small homa fire, others bathe and offer dāna; a subtle golden aura signifies akṣaya merit.
Ritual acts gain enduring, ‘inexhaustible’ merit when rooted in śraddhā (faith) and niyama (disciplined restraint), especially at a powerful tīrtha.
Gopratāra Tīrtha in Ayodhyā.
Japa, homa, snāna, and dāna—performed to one’s capacity—together with niyama-vrata and faith.
