ಇದನ್ನು ‘ಗೌರೀ-ವ್ರತ’ವೆಂದು ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ; ತೃತೀಯಾ ತಿಥಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಆಚರಿಸಬೇಕು. ಸಂತಾನಹೀನಳಾದ ಸ್ತ್ರೀ, ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ದುರ್ಭಾಗ್ಯಪೀಡಿತಳಾದ ಸ್ತ್ರೀ—
