Īśvara (Śiva)
Tirtha: Mūlacaṇḍīśa
Type: temple
Listener: munayaḥ (sages)
Scene: Śiva speaks authoritatively to the sages, explaining the name: Caṇḍī the Goddess, he as her Lord, and the liṅga as ‘mūla’ because it fell at this spot. The liṅga is shown with a subtle mark of descent—like a meteor of sanctity.
Sacred sites carry divine history; names of tīrthas and liṅgas preserve theological meaning and revelation.
The Mūlacaṇḍīśa liṅga-site within Prabhāsa kṣetra.
No explicit rite is prescribed here; the verse explains the sacred name and origin (nāma-nirukti) of the liṅga.
