विवाहादौ स्मृतः सौरो यज्ञादौ सावनः स्मृतः । आब्दिके पितृकार्ये तु चान्द्रो मासः प्रशस्यते
vivāhādau smṛtaḥ sauro yajñādau sāvanaḥ smṛtaḥ | ābdike pitṛkārye tu cāndro māsaḥ praśasyate
ವಿವಾಹಾದಿ ಕರ್ಮಗಳಿಗೆ ಸೌರ ಗಣನೆ ಹೇಳಲಾಗಿದೆ; ಯಜ್ಞಾದಿ ಕರ್ಮಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಾವನ ಗಣನೆ ಹೇಳಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಆಬ್ದಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಚಾಂದ್ರಮಾಸವೇ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠವೆಂದು ಪ್ರಶಂಸಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ।
