कृष्णपक्षे चतुर्दश्यां स्नात्वा यस्तर्पयेत्पितॄन् । तर्पिताः पितरस्तेन यावच्चन्द्रार्कतारकम्
kṛṣṇapakṣe caturdaśyāṃ snātvā yastarpayetpitṝn | tarpitāḥ pitarastena yāvaccandrārkatārakam
ಕೃಷ್ಣಪಕ್ಷದ ಚತುರ್ದಶಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿ ಯಾರು ಪಿತೃಗಳಿಗೆ ತರ್ಪಣ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೋ, ಅವನಿಂದ ತೃಪ್ತರಾದ ಪಿತೃಗಳು ಚಂದ್ರ-ಸೂರ್ಯ-ತಾರೆಗಳು ಇರುವವರೆಗೆ ತೃಪ್ತರಾಗಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ.
