प्रत्यक्षं भास्करो यत्र सदा तिष्ठति भामिनि । तेन प्रभास नामेति प्रसिद्धिमगमत्क्षितौ
pratyakṣaṃ bhāskaro yatra sadā tiṣṭhati bhāmini | tena prabhāsa nāmeti prasiddhimagamatkṣitau
ಭಾಮಿನಿ, ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಸ್ಕರನು ಪ್ರತ്യക്ഷನಂತೆ ಸದಾ ನೆಲೆಸಿರುವನೋ; ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ‘ಪ್ರಭಾಸ’ ಎಂಬ ನಾಮವು ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧಿಯಾಯಿತು.
