समुद्रमटवीं युद्धं विशंते लोभमोहिताः । लोभादि कार्यमत्युग्रं कुर्वंति त्याज्य एव सः
samudramaṭavīṃ yuddhaṃ viśaṃte lobhamohitāḥ | lobhādi kāryamatyugraṃ kurvaṃti tyājya eva saḥ
ಲೋಭದಿಂದ ಮೋಹಿತರಾದ ಜನರು ಸಮುದ್ರಕ್ಕೂ, ಅರಣ್ಯಕ್ಕೂ, ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೂ ಸಹ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಲೋಭಾದಿಯಿಂದ ಆರಂಭಿಸಿ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಉಗ್ರಕರ್ಮ ಮಾಡುವವನು ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ವರ್ಜ್ಯನು.
