एते च वांछते नित्यं तक्षको द्विज कुण्डले । स तथेति समादाय विस्मयोत्फुल्ललोचनः । कौतुकात्पुनरागत्य राजानं वाक्यमब्रवीत्
ete ca vāṃchate nityaṃ takṣako dvija kuṇḍale | sa tatheti samādāya vismayotphullalocanaḥ | kautukātpunarāgatya rājānaṃ vākyamabravīt
“ಹೇ ದ್ವಿಜ, ತಕ್ಷಕ ನಾಗನು ಈ ಕುಂಡಲಗಳನ್ನು ನಿತ್ಯವೂ ಬಯಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ‘ತಥೇತಿ’ ಎಂದು ಅವನು ಅವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡನು; ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯದಿಂದ ಅವನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು ವಿಸ್ತರಿಸಿದವು. ಬಳಿಕ ಕುತೂಹಲದಿಂದ ಮರಳಿ ಬಂದು ರಾಜನಿಗೆ ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
