न विद्यया केवलया तपसा वापि पात्रता । यत्र वृत्तिमिमे चोभे तद्वि पात्रं प्रचक्षते
na vidyayā kevalayā tapasā vāpi pātratā | yatra vṛttimime cobhe tadvi pātraṃ pracakṣate
ಕೇವಲ ವಿದ್ಯೆಯಿಂದಲೂ, ಕೇವಲ ತಪಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದಲೂ ದಾನಗ್ರಹಣದ ಪಾತ್ರತೆ ಉಂಟಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸದ್ವೃತ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಈ ಗುಣಗಳು ಎರಡೂ ಒಂದಾಗಿ ಇವೆಯೋ, ಅವನೇ ನಿಜವಾದ ಪಾತ್ರನೆಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
