kleśena kṛtvā kūpaṃ vā sa ca kṣārodako vṛthā | bahukleśairjanma nītaṃ vinā dharmaṃ tathā vṛthā
ಬಹಳ ಶ್ರಮಪಟ್ಟು ಬಾವಿ ತೋಡಿದರೂ ಅದರ ನೀರು ಉಪ್ಪಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಆ ಶ್ರಮ ವ್ಯರ್ಥ. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅನೇಕ ಕಷ್ಟಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಳೆದ ಜೀವನವೂ ಧರ್ಮವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಇದ್ದರೆ ವ್ಯರ್ಥವೇ.
