किं न श्रुतः पुरा गीतः श्लोकः स्वायंभुवेन यः । यथा बालेषु निक्षिप्ताः स्त्रीषु षंडितकेषु च । अपस्मारीषु चैवापि सर्वे ते संशयं गताः
kiṃ na śrutaḥ purā gītaḥ ślokaḥ svāyaṃbhuvena yaḥ | yathā bāleṣu nikṣiptāḥ strīṣu ṣaṃḍitakeṣu ca | apasmārīṣu caivāpi sarve te saṃśayaṃ gatāḥ
ಸ್ವಾಯಂಭುವ (ಮನು) ಪೂರ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಡಿದ ಆ ಶ್ಲೋಕವನ್ನು ನೀವು ಕೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲವೇ—‘ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಬಾಲಕರಿಗೆ, ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರಿಗೆ, ಷಂಡರಿಗೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಅಪಸ್ಮಾರಗ್ರಸ್ತರಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದರೆ, ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಸಂಶಯ ಮತ್ತು ಗೊಂದಲಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಗಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ’ ಎಂದು।
