कृत्वैतन्नश्यते कीर्तिर्यावदाचंद्रतारकम् । एवं संचिंत्य बहुधा गत्वा चैव वनांतरम्
kṛtvaitannaśyate kīrtiryāvadācaṃdratārakam | evaṃ saṃciṃtya bahudhā gatvā caiva vanāṃtaram
“ನಾನು ಇದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದರೆ, ಚಂದ್ರ-ತಾರೆಯಿರುವವರೆಗೂ ಉಳಿಯಬೇಕಾದ ನನ್ನ ಸತ್ಕೀರ್ತಿ ನಾಶವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.” ಎಂದು ಮರುಮರು ಚಿಂತಿಸಿ ಅವನು ಅರಣ್ಯದ ಗಹನಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು.
