ततः सर्वानपृच्छत्स कुलं कोऽपि न वेद तत् । ततो विष्णुरिदं प्राह पृछ्यंतेऽन्ये किमर्थतः
tataḥ sarvānapṛcchatsa kulaṃ ko'pi na veda tat | tato viṣṇuridaṃ prāha pṛchyaṃte'nye kimarthataḥ
ನಂತರ ಅವನು ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ (ವರನ) ಕುಲವೇನು ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು; ಆದರೆ ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಅದು ತಿಳಿಯಲಿಲ್ಲ। ಆಗ ವಿಷ್ಣು ಹೇಳಿದರು: “ಇತರರನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವುದರಿಂದ ಏನು ಪ್ರಯೋಜನ?”
