वक्तुमिच्छुः शैलपुत्रीं सखीभिरिति चोदितः । ब्रह्मन्नियं महाभागा गृहीतनियमा शुभा
vaktumicchuḥ śailaputrīṃ sakhībhiriti coditaḥ | brahmanniyaṃ mahābhāgā gṛhītaniyamā śubhā
ಶೈಲಪುತ್ರಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಲು ಇಚ್ಛಿಸಿ, ಸಖಿಯರ ಪ್ರೇರಣೆಯಿಂದ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದರು— “ಹೇ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣಾ! ಈ ಮಹಾಭಾಗ್ಯಶಾಲಿನಿ ಶುಭಾ ದೇವಿ ನಿಯಮವ್ರತವನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿದ್ದಾಳೆ.”
