स्कंद उवाच । शृण्वगस्त्य महाभाग भविष्यं कथयाम्यहम् । कृष्णद्वैपायनो व्यासोऽकथयद्यन्महद्वचः । निश्चिकेतुमनाः पश्चाद्यत्करिष्यति तच्छृणु
skaṃda uvāca | śṛṇvagastya mahābhāga bhaviṣyaṃ kathayāmyaham | kṛṣṇadvaipāyano vyāso'kathayadyanmahadvacaḥ | niściketumanāḥ paścādyatkariṣyati tacchṛṇu
ಸ್ಕಂದನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಹೇ ಮಹಾಭಾಗ ಅಗಸ್ತ್ಯ, ಕೇಳು; ನಾನು ಭವಿಷ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಕೃಷ್ಣದ್ವೈಪಾಯನ ವ್ಯಾಸನು ಹೇಳಿದ ಮಹದ್ವಚನವನ್ನು ಕೇಳು; ನಂತರ ನಿರ್ಣಯಿಸಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದ ಅವನು ಮಾಡುವುದನ್ನೂ ಕೇಳು.
