क्षतात्संत्राणनात्क्षत्रं तत्क्वास्मिन्प्रलयप्रिये । वैश्योपि न भवेदेष सदा निर्धनचेष्टनः
kṣatātsaṃtrāṇanātkṣatraṃ tatkvāsminpralayapriye | vaiśyopi na bhavedeṣa sadā nirdhanaceṣṭanaḥ
ಗಾಯಗೊಂಡವರನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವುದರಿಂದ ‘ಕ್ಷತ್ರ’ ಎನ್ನಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ—ಆದರೆ ಪ್ರಳಯಪ್ರಿಯನಾದ ಇವನಲ್ಲಿ ಅದು ಎಲ್ಲಿದೆ? ಇವನು ವೈಶ್ಯನೂ ಅಲ್ಲ; ಸದಾ ದರಿದ್ರನಂತೆ ವರ್ತಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
