श्रीमार्कण्डेय उवाच । साधु साधु महाप्राज्ञ पृष्टोऽहं नृपनन्दन । स्नानार्थं नर्मदां पुण्यामागतस्ते पिता पुरा
śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca | sādhu sādhu mahāprājña pṛṣṭo'haṃ nṛpanandana | snānārthaṃ narmadāṃ puṇyāmāgataste pitā purā
ಶ್ರೀ ಮಾರ್ಕಂಡೇಯರು ಹೇಳಿದರು— ಸಾಧು ಸಾಧು, ಮಹಾಪ್ರಾಜ್ಞ ರಾಜಕುಮಾರನೇ! ನೀನು ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಕೇಳಿದೆ. ಪೂರ್ವಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆ ಸ್ನಾನಾರ್ಥವಾಗಿ ಪುಣ್ಯ ನರ್ಮದೆಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದನು.
