evamuktastu deveśo brahmaṇā parameṣṭhinā | uvāca ślakṣṇayā vācā narmadāṃ saritāṃ varām

ಪರಮೇಷ್ಠಿ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದಾಗ ದೇವೇಶ್ವರನು ಮೃದು ಮಧುರ ವಾಣಿಯಿಂದ ನದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠಳಾದ ನರ್ಮದೆಯನ್ನು ಉದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು।
