Scene: King Uttānapāda, hands folded, asks Śiva with earnest curiosity; attendants and sages listen, anticipating a sacred story.
A sincere question to the divine about dharma and merit is itself a gateway to receiving sacred knowledge (kathā-śravaṇa).
The question anticipates the revelation of a particular kṣetra/tīrtha in the following verses; the site is not named in this verse.
None directly; the verse emphasizes inquiry and listening to purāṇic narration as spiritually significant.
