Devotees/Sages (stotra-style nāma-japa praise within Revā Khaṇḍa narrative)
Tirtha: Revā (Narmadā) ghāṭas (contextual)
Type: ghat
Scene: Pilgrims at a river ghāṭa with wet hair after snāna, hands folded, chanting ‘namo namaste’ to Viṣṇu; the three names appear as luminous syllables above the water, dissolving dark stains symbolizing pāpa.
Nāma-smaraṇa (remembering the divine Name) is upheld as a direct purifier that destroys sin.
The hymn occurs in the Revā Khaṇḍa context, associating nāma-japa with the sanctity of the Narmadā tīrtha region.
Nāma-smaraṇa (japa/remembering the Names of Viṣṇu) is explicitly recommended as the purificatory practice.
