ಶ್ರೀ ಮಾರ್ಕಂಡೇಯನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಇಕ್ಷ್ವಾಕು ವಂಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಿಸಿದ ಒಬ್ಬ ರಾಜನು ಇದ್ದನು; ಅವನು ಶುದ್ಧೋದನನ ಮೊಮ್ಮಗ. ಚಾಣಕ್ಯನೆಂಬ ರಾಜರ್ಷಿ ಈ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಆಳಿದನು.
