It establishes the karmic and cosmic genealogy of powerful asuras, showing how embodied beings arise through lineage and guṇa-driven tendencies—setting the stage for dharma’s restoration under Pati (Śiva) as the supreme governor of cosmic order.
By introducing forces that later oppose divine order, the text implicitly contrasts asuric pride with surrender; Linga/Saguṇa-Śiva worship is presented elsewhere in the Purāṇa as the stabilizing refuge that subdues ego and aligns the devotee with Śiva’s niyati (cosmic law).
No direct rite is prescribed in this verse; the practical takeaway is to counter asuric qualities (pride, domination) through daily pañcākṣarī-japa ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") and cultivating humility and devotion.
