Kṛṣṇādi-Śivabhaktoddhāraṇa & Śiva-māhātmya-varṇana
Deliverance of Krishna and other devotees; Description of Shiva’s Greatness
tava dharmme matirnityaṃ yaśaścāpracalaṃ mahat | tvatsāmīpyaṃ sthirā bhaktistvayi nityaṃ mamāstviti
Parvati (Uma), offering a prayer/boon-request oriented to Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: nurturing
It expresses the Shaiva ideal of nitya-bhakti: a mind anchored in dharma, unwavering inner steadiness, and the grace of living in Shiva’s sāmīpya (nearness), which matures devotion into liberation.
The prayer is oriented to a personal, accessible Lord (Saguna Shiva): through steady devotion and righteous living, the devotee seeks constant proximity—mirrored in Linga worship where Shiva’s presence is approached daily with reverence and discipline.
A practical takeaway is daily bhakti-sādhana: japa of Shiva’s name (especially the Panchakshara), worship with a steady mind, and dharmic conduct—so devotion becomes firm (sthirā) and continuous (nitya).
