Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umapati
Sthala Purana: Not a Jyotirliṅga foundation story; it is a darśana-anugraha episode where Śiva, pleased by prolonged tapas, appears with Pārvatī to grant vision.
Significance: Darśana of Śiva with Pārvatī is portrayed as the fruit of sustained sādhana culminating in grace; reinforces that final attainment is bestowed (anugraha), not merely produced.
Shakti Form: Parvati
Role: liberating
It highlights the Shaiva Siddhanta emphasis on Śiva’s anugraha (grace): when devotion and tapas mature in time, Parameśvara, along with Śakti (Pārvatī), reveals Himself through darśana—an experiential confirmation that the Lord is the liberating Pati who responds to sincere surrender.
Darśana here points to Saguna revelation—Śiva making Himself perceptible to the devotee. In Linga-worship, the same truth is approached through a consecrated form; the Linga becomes the focal support through which the devotee receives Śiva’s presence and, by grace, inner awakening.
The takeaway is steady, time-tested devotion: daily Linga-pūjā with pañcākṣarī japa (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), vibhūti/tripuṇḍra and rudrākṣa (as per capacity), and sustained vrata or tapas—seeking not spectacle but the Lord’s pleased grace culminating in darśana.
