शंकर उवाच । शृणु देवि प्रवक्ष्यामिच्छायापुरुषलक्षणम् । यज्ज्ञात्वा पुरुषः सम्यक्सर्वपापैः प्रमुच्यते
śaṃkara uvāca | śṛṇu devi pravakṣyāmicchāyāpuruṣalakṣaṇam | yajjñātvā puruṣaḥ samyaksarvapāpaiḥ pramucyate
ಶಂಕರನು ಹೇಳಿದರು—ಹೇ ದೇವಿ, ಕೇಳು; ಛಾಯಾ-ಪುರುಷನ ಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳನ್ನು ನಾನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಇದನ್ನು ಸಮ್ಯಕವಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿದವನು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪಾಪಗಳಿಂದ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಮುಕ್ತನಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ.
