The Manifestation/Transmission of the Mṛtyuñjaya Vidyā
त्वयेदं स्थापितं लिंगं शुक्रेशमिति संज्ञितम् । येऽर्चयिष्यंति भनुजास्तेषां सिद्धिर्भविष्यति
tvayedaṃ sthāpitaṃ liṃgaṃ śukreśamiti saṃjñitam | ye'rcayiṣyaṃti bhanujāsteṣāṃ siddhirbhaviṣyati
ಈ ಲಿಂಗವನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನಿಂದಲೇ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ; ಇದು ‘ಶುಕ್ರೇಶ’ ಎಂಬ ನಾಮದಿಂದ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧ. ಭಾನು ವಂಶಜರು ಇದನ್ನು ಅರ್ಚಿಸುವವರು ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಸಿದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ.

Sthala Purana: Śiva names a newly established Liṅga as “Śukreśa” and grants a phalaśruti: Bhānu’s descendants who worship it attain siddhi. The naming functions as a local-māhātmya establishing the site’s salvific efficacy.
Significance: Worship (arcana) of the Śukreśa-liṅga is promised siddhi—interpretable in Śaiva Siddhānta as both laukika success and, when joined with right devotion/knowledge, a movement toward Śiva’s anugraha.

The verse functions as a phalaśruti: Śiva sanctifies a specific Liṅga by naming it Śukreśa and declares that devoted worship (arcana) leads to siddhi—spiritual success under Śiva’s grace.
It affirms Saguna-upāsanā through the Liṅga: the formless (nirguṇa) Śiva becomes approachable through a consecrated form, and sincere arcana to that form is said to yield definite spiritual fruition.
Regular Liṅga-arcana—offering water, flowers, and mantra-japa (commonly the Pañcākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”)—is implied as the practical means for attaining siddhi through devotion.
