शङ्खचूडकृततपः—ब्रह्मवरकवचप्राप्तिः / Śaṅkhacūḍa’s Austerity—Brahmā’s Boon and the Bestowal of the Kavaca
varaṃ brūhīti provāca dānavendraṃ vidhistadā | sa dṛṣṭvā taṃ nanāmāti namrastuṣṭāva sadgirā
Suta Goswami (narrating the episode; within the scene, Brahmā addresses the Dānava-king)
Tattva Level: pashu
Type: stotra
Offering: pushpa
The verse highlights namratā (humility) and sat-stuti (truthful praise) as the proper inner posture before seeking any divine favor—an ethic aligned with Shaiva Siddhānta where grace is approached through reverence and purified intention.
Though the scene features Brahmā, the devotional principle mirrors Linga/Saguṇa-Śiva worship: one first bows, offers sincere stotra, and only then petitions—showing that devotion and disciplined speech precede desire-driven requests.
Adopt a simple sequence: bow (praṇāma), offer a short Śiva-stuti, and then state your sankalpa; japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” with a humble mind is the practical takeaway.
