Rudra Enters the Battlefield; the Daityas’ Arrow-Storm
śrībhagavānuvāca | bhavatyāḥ kṛpayā devi tadvṛttaṃ viditaṃ mayā | yadājñāpaya māṃ mātastatkuryyāṃ tvadanujñayā
The Blessed Lord (Śrī Bhagavān; contextually a divine male deity addressing Devī)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: teaching
It highlights the Shaiva ethic of śaraṇāgati (surrender): true power is guided by grace (kṛpā) and aligned with divine instruction (ājñā), not personal impulse.
In Saguna worship, the devotee approaches the Lord and Devī as compassionate, personal guides; this verse models the devotional posture of seeking permission and acting as an instrument of the Divine will.
A practical takeaway is daily sankalpa with humility—begin japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” offer actions mentally at the Linga, and proceed only after inwardly seeking the Lord’s/Devī’s anu-jñā (assent).
