ब्रह्मोवाच । द्विजवर्य शृणु प्रीत्या चरितं शशिमौलिनः । यत्पृच्छते कुर्वतश्च सर्वसंशयहारकम्
brahmovāca | dvijavarya śṛṇu prītyā caritaṃ śaśimaulinaḥ | yatpṛcchate kurvataśca sarvasaṃśayahārakam
ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದರು—ಹೇ ದ್ವಿಜಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ, ಭಕ್ತಿ-ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಂದ ಶಶಿಮೌಳಿಯಾದ ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರ ಶಿವನ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಚರಿತ್ರೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳು. ನೀನು ಕೇಳಿದದ್ದಕ್ಕೂ ನೀನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಕರ್ಮಕ್ಕೂ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಎಲ್ಲ ಸಂಶಯಗಳನ್ನು ಇದು ನಿವಾರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
