It shows the Devas, led by Indra, approaching Kumāra—signifying that worldly power and celestial authority ultimately seek refuge in Shiva’s divine order, where Skanda functions as Shiva’s empowered commander (śakti-prabhāva) in maintaining dharma.
Kumāra is a Saguna manifestation connected to Shiva’s grace in action: the Devas’ approach reflects how devotees and even gods turn toward Shiva’s manifested powers for protection and restoration of cosmic balance—rooted in reverence to Shiva as Pati, the supreme Lord symbolized by the Liṅga.
A practical takeaway is to seek Shiva’s protection through Saguna upāsanā: daily japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and worship with vibhūti (Tripuṇḍra) as a reminder that all powers are upheld by Shiva’s grace.
