Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating the episode; within the scene, Lord Śiva addresses Pārvatī)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: nurturing
It highlights Śiva as Pati—the Lord whose kṛpā (grace) initiates transformation. His “merciful glance” symbolizes divine anugraha that softens bondage (pāśa) and draws the soul (paśu) toward devotion and liberation.
The verse emphasizes Saguna Śiva—personal, responsive, and compassionate. In Liṅga worship, devotees seek the same kṛpā-dṛṣṭi through pūjā, abhiṣeka, and mantra, recognizing the Liṅga as the accessible form of the transcendent Lord.
Meditate on Śiva’s compassionate presence (kṛpā-dhyāna) while repeating the Pañcākṣarī—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—and conclude with a prayer for anugraha; this aligns inner attention with the grace implied by Śiva’s glance.
