Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Shakti Form: Ambikā
Role: nurturing
It highlights the Mother’s grace (anugraha) expressed as loving care—showing that divine compassion nurtures the devotee and strengthens auspiciousness, harmony, and readiness for worship in the Shaiva path.
Though not directly about the Liṅga, it supports Saguna-bhakti: devotion to Shiva’s family forms. Honoring Gaṇeśa—revered in Shaiva tradition as the remover of obstacles—prepares the devotee for successful Shiva worship and sacred rites.
The takeaway is to begin Shiva-centered worship with reverent offerings and a loving attitude—such as offering clean cloth, flowers, or ornaments to Gaṇeśa before japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) or before temple/household pūjā.
