मा शूने अग्ने नि षदाम नृणां माशेषसोऽवीरता परि त्वा । प्रजावतीषु दुर्यासु दुर्य ॥

mā śū́ne agne ní ṣadāma nṛṇā́ṃ mā́śeṣaso ’vī́ratā pári tvā | prajā́vatīṣu dúryāsu durya ||

ಹೇ ಅಗ್ನಿ, ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಶೂನ್ಯತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳದಿರಲಿ; ವೀರರಹಿತತೆ (ಅವೀರತಾ) ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು/ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸುತ್ತುವರಿಯದಿರಲಿ. ಪ್ರಜಾವಂತ, ಸುಸ್ಥಿರ ಗೃಹಗಳಲ್ಲಿ—ಹೇ ದುರ್ಯ (ಗೃಹರಕ್ಷಕ)—ನಮ್ಮ ಸ್ಥಿರ ರಕ್ಷಕನಾಗಿ ನೆಲೆಸಿರು.
