Sukta 5.41
इति चिन्नु प्रजायै पशुमत्यै देवासो वनते मर्त्यो व आ देवासो वनते मर्त्यो वः । अत्रा शिवां तन्वो धासिमस्या जरां चिन्मे निॠतिर्जग्रसीत ॥
íti cin nu pra-jā́yai paśu-mátyai devā́so vánate mártyo va ā́ devāso vanate mártyo vaḥ | átrā śivā́ṃ tanvò dhāsím asyā́ jarā́ṃ cin me níḥṛtiḥ jagrasīt ||
ಇತಿ—ಹೌದು, ಪ್ರಜೆಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪಶು-ಸಂಪತ್ತಿಗೆ, ಹೇ ದೇವರೇ, ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಮರಣ್ಯನು ಜಯಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ—ಹೌದು, ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಮರಣ್ಯನು ಜಯಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಹಧಾರಿತನವನ್ನು ಶಿವವಾದ, ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಕರ ರೂಪವಾಗಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸೋಣ; ನಿಋತಿ (ವಿಲಯ-ಶಕ್ತಿ) ನನ್ನ ಜರೆಯನ್ನೂ ಕ್ಷಯವನ್ನೂ ಸಹ ನುಂಗದಿರಲಿ.
