Sukta 4.16
अपो यदद्रिं पुरुहूत दर्दराविर्भुवत्सरमा पूर्व्यं ते । स नो नेता वाजमा दर्षि भूरिं गोत्रा रुजन्नङ्गिरोभिर्गृणानः ॥
apó yád ádrim puru-hūta dárdaḥ āvír bhuvat sáramā pū́rvyam té | sá no netā́ vā́jam ā́ darṣi bhū́riṃ gotrā́ rújann áṅgirobhir gṛṇānáḥ ||
ಓ ಪುರುಹೂತ, ನೀರುಗಳನ್ನು ತಡೆದಿದ್ದ ಅದ್ರಿ (ಶಿಲೆ)ಯನ್ನು ನೀನು ಭೇದಿಸಿದಾಗ, ನಿನ್ನ ಪೌರ್ವಿಕ ಸರಮಾ—ಅಂತರ್ದೃಷ್ಟಿ—ಪ್ರಕಟವಾಯಿತು. ನಮ್ಮಿಗೆ ನೇತೆಯಾಗು; ನಮಗೆ ಬಲದ ಅಪಾರ ಸಂಪತ್ತನ್ನು ತಂದುಕೊಡು; ಅಂಗಿರಸ ಶಕ್ತಿಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ, ನಾವು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಸ್ತುತಿಸುವಾಗ, ಗುಪ್ತ ಗೋತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು (ಬೆಳಕಿನ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿಗೆಗಳನ್ನು) ಒಡೆದು ತೆರೆ.
