Sukta 2.19
स माहिन इन्द्रो अर्णो अपां प्रैरयदहिहाच्छा समुद्रम् । अजनयत्सूर्यं विदद्गा अक्तुनाह्नां वयुनानि साधत् ॥
sá mā́hina índro árṇo apā́ṃ práirayat ahi-hā́cchā samudrám | ájanayat sū́ryaṃ vídad gā́ aktúnā́hnāṃ vayúnāni sādhat ||
ಆ ಮಹಿಮಾವಂತ ಇಂದ್ರನು—ಅಹಿ (ಸರ್ಪ) ಸಂಹಾರಕನು—ನೀರಿನ ಪ್ರವಾಹವನ್ನು ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಹೊರಡಿಸಿದನು. ಅವನು ಸೂರ್ಯನನ್ನು ಜನ್ಮಗೊಳಿಸಿದನು; ಗೋಗಳು (ಕಿರಣಗಳು) ಅನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಹಿಡಿದನು; ಮತ್ತು ರಾತ್ರಿ-ಹಗಲುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಋತದ ವಿವೇಕಮಯ ವಿಧानों ಮೂಲಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಸಾಧಿಸಿದನು.
