Sukta 10.40
जनिष्ट योषा पतयत्कनीनको वि चारुहन्वीरुधो दंसना अनु । आस्मै रीयन्ते निवनेव सिन्धवोऽस्मा अह्ने भवति तत्पतित्वनम् ॥
janiṣṭha yóṣā patáyat kanīnakaḥ ví cā́ru-hanvī́rudho daṃsanā́ ánu | ā́smāi rīyante nivanéva síndhavo 'smā́ ahné bhavati tát patitvánam ||
ಕನ್ಯೆ ಜನಿಸುತ್ತದೆ; ಯೌವನದ ಕುಮಾರನು ಅವಳ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಹಾರುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಸುಂದರ-ದವಡೆಯ ಶಕ್ತಿಗಳು ಕರ್ಮಕೌಶಲ್ಯದ ದಂಸನೆಯನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸುತ್ತವೆ. ಅವನಿಗಾಗಿ ಪ್ರವಾಹಗಳು ಇಳಿಜಾರಿನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಹರಿಯುವಂತೆ ಹರಿಯುತ್ತವೆ; ಅವನಿಗೆ ಆ ದಿನವೇ ಪತಿತ್ವ—ಆಧಿಪತ್ಯದ ಸ್ಥಿತಿ—ಉದ್ಭವಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
